Starting a new treatment can feel both hopeful and nerve-wracking — totally understandable! While there aren't specific member stories to share right now, here's what is generally known about mirvetuximab soravtansine (Elahere) and what to expect.

Mirvetuximab soravtansine is given as an IV infusion every three weeks. It works by delivering a cancer-killing drug directly to cancer cells that have high levels of a protein called folate receptor alpha (FR-alpha).

Here are the most commonly reported side effects:

- Eye-related issues — irritation, blurry vision, and dry eyes (this is one of the most notable ones, so eye drops are often recommended)
- Fatigue — feeling more tired than usual
- Nausea
- Stomach discomfort

A rarer but serious side effect is interstitial lung disease (lung inflammation), so it's important to report any new breathing difficulties to your doctor right away. Many MyOvarianCancerTeam members share their personal experiences with treatments like this one in the community — it can be a great place to hear real stories from people who've been on the same treatment.

As always, keeping open communication with your care team about any side effects you experience will help them support you through treatment. Wishing you all the best as you begin this next step! 💙
