@A MyOvarianCancerTeam Member - I was diagnosed last year with stage 3C HGSC and looking back at my symptoms those two you listed were present for me but I was also going thru menopause & getting older (53) so I didn’t think they were too uncommon at the time but I know different now.

Are flatulence and stomach rumbling symptoms of stage 3C ovarian cancer? These symptoms can indeed be related to ovarian cancer, particularly at an advanced stage like 3C.
At stage 3C, cancer has spread within the abdomen, which can disrupt the digestive system in several ways. Common gastrointestinal symptoms associated with advanced ovarian cancer include:
- Abdominal bloating
- Constipation or diarrhea
- Nausea
- Feeling full quickly after eating
- Abdominal pain
Flatulence and stomach rumbling are closely tied to these digestive disruptions, so they can absolutely be part of the picture. One reason these symptoms occur is due to ascites — a buildup of fluid in the abdomen that presses on internal organs, including the digestive tract. This pressure can cause all sorts of uncomfortable GI symptoms.
It's always worth mentioning any new or worsening symptoms to your care team, even ones that seem minor like gas or rumbling. They can help determine whether it's related to the cancer, treatment side effects, or something else that's manageable. You deserve to feel as comfortable as possible! 💛
